1-29-23 - The Difficulty of the Beatitudes!
Monday Jan 23, 2023
Monday Jan 23, 2023
The readings this week are Micah 6:1-8, Psalm 15, 1 Corinthians 1:18-31, and Matthew 5:1-12. This week we look at how we can easily look past the beatitudes. This is a difficult message to hear. We also then have to realize that this message isn't just for us humans, but for creation as a whole as well. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.Remember to answer this week's question:When looking at the beatitudes, are You looking at these beatitudes beyond the human experience? #FaithandSciPod

1-22-23 - Growing Together into our Calling
Monday Jan 16, 2023
Monday Jan 16, 2023
The readings this week are Isaiah 9:1-4, Psalm 27:1, 4-9, 1 Corinthians 1:10-18, and Matthew 4:12-23. This week we look at how we need to work together in order for us to live up to the calling God has for us. This often also means that we have to get out of our own way and realize the opportunities that are in front of us. Risk is going to be part of making the most of these opportunities but following God's plan is not for the faint of heart. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.Remember to answer this week's question:When have you had to make a tough decision for the greater good? #FaithandSciPod

1-15-23 - Come and See what You will Discover
Monday Jan 09, 2023
Monday Jan 09, 2023
The readings this week are Isaiah 49:1-7, Psalm 40:1-11, 1 Corinthians 1:1-9, and John 1:29-42. This week we look at how we have to have the faith to be able to see the potential in something even if it is quite large and we might not fully understand it. Then when we have done that, we must allow ourselves to keep exploring and be willing to go deeper to discover more than we originally thought. That is the "come and see" of faith and in science as well! Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.Remember to answer this week's question:When is or has your curiosity allowed you to look beyond where you are at? #FaithandSciPod If you're wanting to hear another podcast on these texts check out: 1-19-20 - Finding the Messengers

1-8-23 - The Power within Water
Monday Jan 02, 2023
Monday Jan 02, 2023
The readings this week are Isaiah 42:1-9, Psalm 29, Acts 10:34-43, and Matthew 3:13-17. This week we look at the power within water in all it's forms. Yet, it also is used to clean and sustain us while being a symbol of God's forgiveness for us. Quite amazing when you think about it. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
How often, when you interact with water, do you think about baptism in your forgiveness? #FaithandSciPod

1-1-23 - Scientist Refugee
Monday Dec 26, 2022
Monday Dec 26, 2022
The readings this week are either from the First Sunday after Christmas, [Isaiah 63:7-9, Psalm 148, Hebrews 2:10-18, and Matthew 2:13-23] or the Holy Name of Jesus, [Numbers 6:22-27, Psalm 8, Galatians 4:4-7, or Philippians 2:5-11, and Luke 2:15-21] or New Year's Day [Ecclesiastes 3:1-13, Psalm 8, Revelation 21:1-6a, and Matthew 25:31-46]. This week we talk about how many scientists have been refugees and making sure that we all live up to the fulfillment of what God has called us to be. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:

12-25-22 - Observe but don’t Overlook!
Wednesday Dec 21, 2022
Wednesday Dec 21, 2022
The readings this week are either from Proper 1, [Isaiah 9:2-7, Psalm 96, Titus 2:11-14, and Luke 2:1-14, (15-20)] or Proper 2, [Isaiah 62:6-12, Psalm 97, Titus 3:4-7, and Luke 2:(1-7), 8-20] or Proper 3 [Isaiah 52:7-10, Psalm 98, Hebrews 1:1-4, (5-12), and John 1:1-14]. This week we discuss how it is easy to miss simple things or overlook them, but we see with God, this is exactly the way that God like to work. This means we should probably become more accustom to them then. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

12-18-22 - Cutting through the Noise
Saturday Dec 17, 2022
Saturday Dec 17, 2022
The readings this week are from Isaiah 7:10-16, Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19, Romans 1:1-7, and Matthew 1:18-25. This week we look at the need to be able to sort through the noise to know what is coming. This means we can sometimes look to science to be able to see the hypothesis that they think is coming to better understand the world that God has us walking into. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Where have you rejected instead of accepted in something that's new? #FaithandSciPod

Sunday Dec 11, 2022
Sunday Dec 11, 2022
The readings this week are from Isaiah 35:1-10, either Psalm 146:5-10 or Luke 1:46b-55, James 5:7-10, and Matthew 11:2-11. This week we discuss the importance of recognizing things going on around us such as climate change. This also means that we can not sit still but have to be actively pursuing change in order to poetically see the change of how God is working. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
