6-5-22 - The Fire of Hope!
Wednesday Jun 01, 2022
Wednesday Jun 01, 2022
The readings this week are Acts 2:1-21 or Genesis 11:1-9, Psalm 104:24-34, 35b, Romans 8:14-17 or Acts 2:1-21, and John 14:8-17, (25-27). This week we look at how destruction does not leave us hopeless. Instead, it should provide hope and allow us to see beyond the current situation. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
In destruction, do You see hope? Explain your answer #FaithandSciPod If your wanting to hear another podcast on these texts check out: 6-9-19 - The Holy Spirit saying Not Yet

5-29-22 - Our Expectations vs. God’s Reality
Friday May 27, 2022
Friday May 27, 2022
The readings this week are either Acts 16:16-34, Psalm 97, Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20-21, John 17:20-26 or Acts 1:1-11, Psalm 47, or Psalm 93, Ephesians 1:15-23, Luke 24:44-53. This week we look at how our expectations can change how we see God working in the world. Does this expectation cause us to lose our sense of wonder and surprise when the results are different then we expect? Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Do our expectations taint reality? Do our expectations spoil the surprise of God? #FaithandSciPod If your wanting to hear another podcast on these texts check out: 6-2-19 - Do We Give Glory?

5-22-22 - Start with Being Observant
Thursday May 19, 2022
Thursday May 19, 2022
The readings this week are Acts 16:9-15, Psalm 67, Revelation 21:10, 22-22:5, and John 14:23-29, or John 5:1-9. This week we look at how our lack of being observant has made us poor gardeners and caretakers of this place along with poor scientists. If we start with being observant to begin with, it might make it easier for us in the long run to understand how we all work together and are part of something bigger. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

5-8-22 - Trees Dependence on Each Other
Saturday May 07, 2022
Saturday May 07, 2022
The readings this week are Acts 9:36-43, Psalm 23, Revelation 7:9-17, and John 10:22-30. This week we look at how we often think that we are independent people but under the surface we are really dependent on others. In forest ecosystems we find Hub trees/Mother Trees have a great impact on how the whole ecosystem thrives. When we are dependent on others, it makes it easier for us to hear and follow where God is calling us. Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

How do You make sure that Your impact is Greater than Yourself? #FaithandSciPod

5-1-22 - World Change Happens Outside the Comfortable!
Wednesday Apr 27, 2022
Wednesday Apr 27, 2022
The readings this week are Acts 9:1-6 (7-20), Psalm 30, Revelation 5:11-14, and John 21:1-19. This week we discuss how resistant we can be toward change. This means we often go back to the comfortable even when God is calling us into something greater that we have been equipped with. Are we willing to make the changes that would change the whole world for the better? Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Remember to answer this week's question:
Where are you going to give up the comfortable to pursue where God is steering you? #FaithandSciPod

4-24-22 - Not Doubt but Further Evidence
Thursday Apr 21, 2022

The readings this week are Acts 5:27-32, Psalm 118:14-29 or Psalm 150, Revelation 1:4-8, and John 20:19-31. This week we discuss how Thomas wasn't doubting but was trying to provide further support of the of Jesus' resurrection. I would argue Thomas wasn't doubting, he was being a good scientist! Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

Friday Apr 15, 2022
The readings this week are Acts 10:34-43, or Isaiah 65:17-25, Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24, 1 Corinthians 15:19-26, or Acts 10:34-43, John 20:1-18, or Luke 24:1-12. This week we discuss how we need to be willing to continue to seek and look for God. When we do, are we willing to sit there for a while, or do we quickly run away? 4-10-22 - Sacrifices NEED to be Made!
Wednesday Apr 06, 2022
Wednesday Apr 06, 2022
The readings for this week are Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29, and Luke 19:28-40 for Palm Sunday. The readings for Passion Sunday are Isaiah 50:4-9a, Psalm 31:9-16, Philippians 2:5-11, and Luke 22:14-23:56 or Luke 23:1-49. All of these readings are covered this week. This week we discuss more about the IPCC Climate Report and if we are willing to make the sacrifices needed to have it happen. Are we willing to accept both the good and the bad that can come from understanding something even if it means letting things go? Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
Correction: I make a comment about the Holy Roman Empire. This was suppose to be the Roman Empire since the Holy Roman Empire doesn't appear until the 9th Century. I apologize about this mistake.
