3-3-24 - Reality meets the Plastic Predicament

The readings for the week are Exodus 20:1-17, Psalm 19, 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, and John 2:13-22.  This week we look at how sometimes science misses the target too.  We have to make sure that the new thing is actually doing what it is advertised to do, and be better for us, in both the short and long term.  This is something that can easily be overlooked for convenience or profits inside of making sure that we are doing what is best for all of us. 2-25-24 -Growing in our Ideas

The readings for the week are Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16, Psalm 22:23-31, Romans 4:13-25, and either Mark 8:31-38 or Mark 9:2-9.  This week we look at how we can get stuck in our ideas and hurt where God is trying to take us.  We need to be willing and able to hear new ideas and willing to adapt ours so that we can continue to grow. 2-11-24 - Waste into Abundance!

The readings for the week are 2 Kings 2:1-12, Psalm 50:1-6, 2 Corinthians 4:3-6, and Mark 9:2-9.  This week we look at something seen as waste material, such as an orange peel or coffee grounds, which can produce so much more than we expect.  Jesus gives a taste of what is coming and shows there is so much more there than we understand of what Jesus is doing and shows it to us in 7 weeks.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

2-4-24 - Challenged to be Curious

The readings for the week are Isaiah 40:21-31, Psalm 147:1-11, 20c, 1 Corinthians 9:16-23, and Mark 1:29-39.  This week we look at Boston Dynamics, Spot is allowing us to explore places here on earth that were very difficult previously.  When we look at what Jesus does in the end of Mark Chapter 1, we see a similar challenge of challenging his disciples to not get overly comfortable and to keep moving and growing in the faith by continuing to spread the good news.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

1-21-24 - Immediately Answering the Call

The readings for the week are Jonah 3:1-5, 10, Psalm 62:5-12, 1 Corinthians 7:29-31, and Mark 1:14-20.  This week we look at how we have to accept change and be willing to react immediately.  When we see Jesus calling his disciples by the sea we see that along with how our body reacts to bacteria attacking it.  The reactions are immediate, but the relationships that have been built over time is what makes it an effective team.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

1-14-24 - Accepting the Challenge

The readings for the week are 1 Samuel 3:1-10, (11-20), Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18, 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, and John 1:43-51.  This week we look at how challenges can be very good for us.  Just like President Kennedy challenged the United States in the 1960's to go and reach the moon by the end of the decade, Jesus does the same when the early disciples get impressed with simple details.  We are told to come and see.  Will we accept the challenge that that brings?  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

1-7-24 - Ignition is just the Beginning

The readings for the week are Genesis 1:1-5, Psalm 29, Acts 19:1-7, and Mark 1:4-11.  This week we look at the properties of water and how that along with the news of ignition of nuclear fusion opens to us a new world.  We see in baptism that it opens up the beginning of Jesus' ministry and it appears that we are at a beginning of a new energy horizon potentially as well.  Just like the disciples then, we will now have to see that happens as things progress.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

6th Birthday of the Podcast!
