7th Birthday of the Podcast!

Surprise!  We have made it to 7 Years of doing the Faith and Science Podcast.  Yesterday, December 30th, was our birthday.  It has been quite a ride and I am so thankful for everyone tuning in and listening as we have made 366 podcasts.  Enough for every day of the year!  I am excited with some ideas for the podcast next year and I look forward to seeing where this continues to go.Here's to the next year and Thank you for all the support,Tyler Bublitz

1-5-25 - Gathered Together, Chasing the Light

The readings for this week for the 2nd Sunday after Christmas are: Jeremiah 31:7-14 or Sirach 24:1-12, Psalm 147:12-20 or Wisdom of Solomon 10:15-2, Ephesians 1:3-14, and John 1:(1-9), 10-18.  This week we look at how nature and many things around us have a season to slow down and gather together.  Do we as people allow ourselves to do the same?  This week we talk about many of these and how they are needed in order for them to survive and thrive.  This is something I think we all can learn from.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

12-29-24 - Divine Curiosity

The readings for this week for the 1st Sunday after Christmas are: 1 Samuel 2:18-20, 26, Psalm 148, Colossians 3:12-17, and Luke 2:41-52.  This week we look at how we need to keep growing in our faith and understanding.  One great way to do that is through citizen science where we are all able to grow and learn more about our creation.  By working together we can all grow and discover things and learn just like Jesus being in the temple. 12-22-24 - Communicating with the Divine

The readings for this week for the 4th Sunday in Advent are: Micah 5:2-5a, Luke 1:46b-55 or Psalm 80:1-7, Hebrews 10:5-10, and Luke 1:39-45, (46-55).  This week we look at the history of communication.  We have consistently had to have trust in the messages that we have been getting from others from context clues.  Are we connected enough to God that we hear, understand and know that the messages are from God?  John was able to sense the presence of God in the womb, are we able to sense the presence of God?  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.

12-15-24 - The Expanding Universe of Faith

The readings for this week for the 2nd Sunday in Advent are: Zephaniah 3:14-20, Isaiah 12:2-6, Philippians 4:4-7, and Luke 3:7-18.  This week we look at the Hubble tension over the Hubble Constant.  We explore how scientists have continued to work to refine their ways of gathering data to get a more accurate and precise measurement of this constant.  This has come from: continuous questioning, being unafraid of uncertainty, remaining open to new understanding, and recognizing that growth involves challenging existing knowledge. 12-1-24 - Nature's Preparation

The readings for this week for the 1st Sunday in Advent are: Jeremiah 33:14-16, Psalm 25:1-10, 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13, and Luke 21:25-36.  This week we look to nature to see how nature works to prepare for major changes and having to trust God for parts of it.  This can be seen in how trees sap works or in how birds prepare to migrate. 11-24-24 - Missing the Gorilla: Finding God in Life's Blind Spots

The readings for this week for Reign of Christ or Christ the King Sunday are: 2 Samuel 23:1-7 and Psalm 132:1-12, (13-18), or Daniel 7:9-10, 13-14 and Psalm 93, with Revelation 1:4b-8, and John 18:33-37.  This week we look at how we often can not see the whole picture of what is going on.  God calls us to take a moment and breathe and reflect on life and yet we struggle to let ourselves do that.  As we wrap up another lectionary year, let's take a moment to reflect and laugh with God when the gorillas walk through our life instead of missing them. 11-17-24 - Tearing Down Temples

The readings for this week for 26th Sunday after Pentecost are: 1 Samuel 1:4-20, with 1 Samuel 2:1-10, or Daniel 12:1-3, with Psalm 16, and Hebrews 10:11-14, (15-18), 19-25, and Mark 13:1-8.  This week we look at Bredt's Rule in Organic Chemistry and how this is a good thing in science even when it is difficult.  Are we allowing ourselves to do the same thing in our faith?  Without acknowledging the places that we have built up and never review, makes it all the harder when the review needs to happen.  Thanks again for taking the time out to listen to this and I hope this is a tool that you find useful.
